Do Not Leave Registration to the Last Minute!

Why haven’t I received my registration email?

We will endeavor to register you within a few hours of receiving payment. Registration can take up to 24 hours, particularly in the days leading up to the licensing exams as we are inundated with registration requests.

If you do not receive a registration email within a few hours of purchasing the practice exam, first check your SPAM folder and then please feel free to contact us. However, if you’ve left registration to the very last minute, threats and verbal harassment of any kind will not be tolerated and is behaviour inexcusable from persons seeking to enter the reputable field of law.

Do Not Leave Registration to the Last Minute!

I’ve received my registration email, but am having problems logging in. What can I do?

First, make sure you’ve correctly typed in your case-sensitive password. If that doesn’t work, clear your cache and browser history and restart your browser. Clearing your cache resolves virtually all login problems, but should you experience further technical difficulties please contact us.

Once I’ve registered when are the practice exams by LawExams.ca available online?

Once you’ve registered, the LawExams.ca practice exams are available two weeks prior to the licensing exam dates for that particular exam sitting. Access to the practice exams has been scheduled in such a manner so that you’ve had an opportunity to review the licensing material before taking the practice exams. Once available, you’ll have unlimited access to the exams for the duration of the two weeks for the exam sitting for which you have purchased the exams.

Access to the practice exams expires at midnight of the night before the licensing exams. For example, if the Barrister exam is scheduled for June 10th then our practice exam will expire at midnight of June 9th. The expiration date and time we have set is intentional. The licensing exam is an arduous, day-long expenditure of your energy and you’ll need a good night’s rest to tackle it. Cramming the night before will do you more harm than good. It’s imperative that you complete the exam before the expiration time. You have two weeks of unlimited access; use your time wisely. Once the practice exam period expires, you will need to repurchase the practice exams for the next round of sittings.

Is the exam system compatible with all browsers?

Yes it is compatible with most browsers and has been extensively tested with Internet Firefox, Intenet Explorer, and Google Chrome.

However recent Google Chrome versions have been known to block Silverlight

Download the most up-to-date version of Internet Explorer here: http://www.microsoft.com/ie

Download the most up-to-date version of Firefox here: http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/new/

Download the most up-to-date version of Google Chrome here: https://www.google.com/intl/en/chrome/browser/

If you must use Chromre ensure that you have performed this workaround to ensure Silverlight works: Microsoft Knowledgebase

As long as you have a Silverlight Plug-In most browsers will work.

How long is each LawExams.ca practice exam?

Each LawExams.ca practice exam consists of 150 multiple-choice questions and our built-in countdown timer is set at 4.5 hours. The duration of each practice exam is designed to mimic real exam conditions and maximize student learning. However, with our flexible exam software you can learn at your own pace and extend or reduce the length of time it takes to complete the practice exams.

How often can I take the LawExams.ca practice exams?

To maintain the integrity of your learning, you can take the practice exams once only (ideally after you’ve read the licensing materials at least once). However, once you’ve submitted your exam you can review it as often as you like. In fact, we encourage you to review your incorrect and unanswered questions to ensure you understand the material.

Can I re-write the practice exam?

Once you’ve completed a practice exam and submitted your answers, you cannot rewrite the exam. You can, however, review all of the questions along with their answers. If you are intent on re-writing the practice exam, which some find helpful when working on timing, you can purchase another practice exam. However, please note the question set would be the same.

I know LawExams.ca has a built-in countdown timer, but what happens if I run out of time?

The LawExams.ca exam software has a built-in countdown timer that counts down the hours and minutes to the end of the exam, just like the real thing. Once you’ve run out of time our exam software will continue to keep track of your time and will display the information on your screen. When you’ve completed the practice exam our exam summary metrics will inform you of the length of time by which you’ve exceeded the time limit. Of course, it’s imperative that on test day you do not exceed the allotted exam time limit.

I wasn’t able to start, complete or submit my practice exam before its expiry. Can you extend access to the practice exam?

Access to the practice exams is terminated upon expiry. Extensions will not be granted.

I completed the practice exam so why can’t I review my final results?

The completed practice exams are available for viewing immediately following submission by the student. Until submitted a practice exam is not marked as “complete” in case the student wants to pause the practice exam and return to it at a later time. Therefore, if you’ve completed the practice exam and want to view your final results simply log back in, resume the practice exam, and click the “submit” button. Once submitted, you will have unlimited access to your completed and marked practice exam until its expiry.

Can I print the practice exams or my results?

No, our practice exams are only available electronically. Neither the practice exams nor the results can be printed.

What is some of the functionality of the LawExams.ca practice exams?

With the LawExams.ca practice exams you have the ability to: flag questions to return to, pause the exam or write it as one continuous sessions. Although we’ve given you the ability to pause the practice exam, we strongly recommend you set aside some time to write it without interruptions. Doing so will help improve your test taking stamina, a necessity for the licensing exams.

Do you have indices?

We do not have indices to offer. We suggest you contact law students who have written the licensing exams and are willing to share their indices or, in the alternative, you join an indexing group.

Do you offer refunds?

No, we do not offer refunds. When making a payment please make sure you are carefully selecting the practice exam that you intend to write.
